this weekend, cory and i were
haeded up the mountains to southfork, co.
the night before we were suppposed to leave
cory's grandma texted us with a picture saying not to come.
the fire was getting extremely close to their house
and they were going to be evacuated any minute now.
this was looking out their front door.
scary!
so cor and i got to thinking...
where should we go?
we could go to albuquerque..
nah.
we coulld fly to san diego for a few days..
nah.
we could go up to durango...
nah.
so finally, last minute, we decided to go four-wheeling in mancos.
it was beautiful!
this was the first time i had been four-wheeling {in 3 years}
since my accident
//where i broke my pelvis//
so i was a little nervous at first.
i even had to get off one time and walk up a hill
because it was a little sketchy.
but cory understood and said it was probably a good idea.
panorama at the top of the aspen loop
{don't mind cory's freaky arm...oops}
this was the first picture of the ride
love this man and loved the view
father into the trail...
cory was telling me he "just wanted to see a meadow"
and as soon as he said it
we pulled up to one!
us with the meadow in the back
a long distance shot of sharktooth mountain
we loved being surrounded by so many trees!
us in front of sharktooth mountain.
we were going to do a 10 mile hike up to it...
but i wore flip-flops!
{idiot, tayler!}
we rode for about 5 hours and then decided to go back to camp
and just hang out a little bit.
at first we didn't know what to do.
so we both took a nap in our camp chairs,
talked to some guy in the next camp over,
heard about how cool the guys dog was
{half german shepard, half wolf}
from cory,
then i was begged to have one in the future
{again, from cory}
played "twenty questions",
and then decided to call it night at about 8.
haha! we are already turning into the old folk.
{no offense to any old folk reading this...}
so we decided pretty last minute that we were going camping.
i couldn't think of anything to cook without a trailer,
so cory suggested going to sportsman's and grabbing some of these bad boys.
i emphasize the word bad.
the pasta had no flavor.
nothing like i am used to.
the cheesecake was really good,
if you like your cheesecake runny like pudding.
:)
it was a great experience for me to try.
this was in our camp, last picture of the day.
also, on this trip we forgot a few things
some of these included:
jackets
bowls
spoons
and
extra blankets!
we still don't know how the jackets part slipped our minds.
good thing it was only cold at night and in the early morning.
nothing a true camper couldn't handle!
haha.
we had so much fun spending quality time together
especially away from all the technology!
even though we did want to do our nightly routine
of law and order: svu
i'd say it was a good weekend.
next time we might take some games though.. haha!
i love having a husband who makes life so fun!
